Hi, I’m Shuyi!
My journey into tech has been an exciting transition from the world of biotech research to software development. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia and initially worked in biotech research.
While in the lab, I became fascinated with coding and started self-learning computer science in my free time. That passion led me to pursue a diploma in Computer Systems Technology at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) , where I honed my skills in the software development lifecycle and full-stack development.
Beyond coding, I’ve always had a creative side. I’ve been using Adobe Creative Suite for over 13 years, working on digital designs and illustrations.
I also play the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese instrument—back in 2013, my friends and I even recorded and sold out an entire album! (Check it out here.)
Now based in the U.S., I bring both my technical and creative skills together to design and build user-friendly digital experiences. Whether it’s crafting sleek UI/UX designs or developing functional websites and apps, I love helping businesses grow with thoughtful design and efficient technology.
